Potential divers ages 8 and up are welcome to learn to dive and become certified by the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI). This is the largest professional group in the scuba world, and you'll learn from the pros. Beginning with exams on the basic understanding of diving, the Cozumel scuba diving certification program will move you into a confined water dive inside a swimming pool, so you can become familiar with scuba gear. Once you’re comfortable in the closed environment, you'll move into the open water. In order to become certified, you'll need to perform four dives, typically over two days.
Different certifications for different goals

For those wanting to get certified, a number of open water courses are available for juniors and adults. Practical Information
- All dives are boat dives and are led by professional PADI instructors
- Dives take place in small groups of max. 8 certified divers or 4 students per instructor
- Must be in good physical condition. You will be required to fill out a medical questionnaire
- Bring your coupon, a towel, sunscreen lotion, and a swimsuit or shorts
- $2 USD marine park entrance fee is not included
- Lunch is not included. We recommend you pack a box lunch to take with you
- Please provide medical clearance, if necessary

PADI Discover Scuba Diving with Additional Free Dive
This 1-day program is designed for guests with no scuba diving experience or no diving certification. The class and practice in the pool would take place in the morning, and the dive in the afternoon. Lunch is not provided with this activity.

PADI Scuba Diver (incl. Crew Pack) 2 Days/2 DivesThis 2-day course is recommended for people who don’t have the full 3 days available to get OWD certified. Once you finish this course, you'll be given a diver’s license, which will allow you to dive at max depth of 40 feet (12 meters) exclusively in the presence of a divemaster.

PADI Open Water Diver CourseThis is a 3-day course for guests who would like to get their diving certification while on vacation. You'll learn all about diving theory and participate in practical sessions in the resort’s pool. Once ready, you'll make dives down to 60 feet (18 meters) to the local reefs.
