Description
Share a boat in search of deep-sea fish in the Riviera Maya
Your adventure at sea begins either in the morning or in the early afternoon with optional pick-up from your resort to Maroma Beach in the Riviera Maya. This is where you’ll arrive to the marina to meet the friendly captain and crew who will take care of you and the guests from other resorts who will share a fishing boat. After a rundown of important information for your journey, you and the other passengers will be ready to sail off into the vast Caribbean Sea.
Become enamored with the turquoise waters all around you as you sit back on the boat, which comes equipped with a restroom, cabin, and fishing chair. As part of your outing, you can refresh with a cold beer or with soft drinks as you feel the ocean breeze on your face. After some time, you’ll be trolling for smaller fish, which will be the bait for the big catch you’ve been looking for.
Reel 'em in during your Maroma fishing tour
After trolling, your expert captain and crew will lead the boat toward deeper waters to find the spots in which the biggest fish are most likely to be lurking. Depending on the time of the year you take this excursion, you can find some of the Riviera Maya’s most popular deep-sea fish, such as groupers, snappers, mahi-mahi and barracuda. When the fish finally bite your bait, don’t be surprised if the fish put up a big fight — but that’s part of the fun! The crew will help you reel ‘em in, especially if they’re the heavier type of fish.
Once your time in the deep sea ends, your boat will return back to the marina, where you’re welcome to take a break at the restaurant or take photos with the fish you caught. You can enjoy snacks and soft drinks until it’s time for your transportation to give you the return trip to your resort.
